He owns 14 courses around the world and runs another five, all of which he insists are the best on the planet.

He also claims he’s a 3 handicap, never loses, and has won an astonishing 18 club championships.*

How much of that is true?

None says acclaimed sportswriter Rick Reilly in Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump

Dreyer’s English are the best! This Saturday on Whad’ya Know, the Podcast

April 1, 2019

Among other really important jobs at Random House (VP & executive managing editor and probably more)

Benjamin Dreyer is the Copy Chief. I believe this means he gets to edit the works of pretty much anybody on the list he

wants to, which has included Michael Chabon, Edmund Morris, Elizabeth Strout, E.L. Doctorow and Calvin Trillin, among

others.  Big job–this is like being able to tell King James he’s using the wrong meaning of Virgin, so change it.

His new one, Dreyer’s English, is a guide to usage and style not just for A-listers but for all of us daring to go beyond 140

characters in his or her or their writing. (Believe me, this will come up. Maybe even ter.

If we can believe this elegant voice on Audible is a guy from Queens, let’s listen to Benjamin Dreyer with evocative thoughts

on the evocative comma:

April on Whad’ya Know Podcast

March 26, 2019

April is the Coolest Month on Whad’ya Know!

We’ll start the month on April 6 by learning to speak Dreyer’s English, despite it being utterly correct and spot on (on?)

clarity and style. You may want to stop talking altogether if Dreyer has anything to say about it.

Or maybe, thanks to your new usage,  you’ll get a raise.

Still have dreams about your Organic Chemistry final? It just so happens Matt Bowman is living his dream job teaching

organic down the street at UW , where his students not only get it–they kinda dig it.  Or whatever kids do these days.

Go organic with the most popular science teacher since Walter White on April 13.

And on April 27Matt Damon–in your dreams–but here at A House of A Guy’s Own we’ll be doing doughnuts with UW

Space Botanist Simon Gilroy (not pictured) the real Martian captured by the University of Wisconsin and made to create

gardens suitable for Mars use for future residents of the Red Planet–and not screw it up like Matt Did.

You can find the Facebook livecasts of Whad’ya Know, http://www.facebook.com/whadyaknow.net/ , at 10 am CDT, around

midnight in Seoul,

Whad’ya Know for The Year of the Pig

February 4, 2019

Hear Ye, Hear Ye:  The State of the Feldman

Ms Speaker, the rest of you.

Wasn’t 2018 a great year? And the President says they will keep getting greater for the foreseeable future, or 2 years, whichever comes first.

The Whad’ya Know beat went on, miss you Sonny, in 2018, as it did in 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, ellipse, ellipse, ellipse, and so on. So forth would be overdoing it.

2019 is no exception, except for it being the Year of the Pig making me a little uneasy as you might expect, or it could be whatever this is right here which bothers me at night.

Without further adieu- Whad’ya Know for the Year of the Pig–

March 16              A team of trolls working from Savushkina St, St. Petersburg, slipped Rob Sears enough material to piece together “Vladimir Putin: Life Coach,” ‘tips from the world’s most powerful man which will allow you to take control of your life and the lives of those around you’–

March 23             Helen Schulman’s not-so-fictional multiverse in “Come With Me” is built around an algorithm that allows people to play ‘sliding-door’ with virtual reality scenarios from their pasts–

March 30              —–no show—–

April, May & June: TBA  (hey, I gotta do it all!)
